When you attend and work on
as many fashion shows as I do, sometimes they can tend to all blur together into one long runway.
But then every now and then you get to be involved with a show that stands apart from the crowd, defies expectations and grabs people's attention.
The #JontéAW16Show held last Thursday night was definitely one to make people sit up and take note.
Jonté Designs is a West Australian label that was launched in 2012 by South African born Jonté Pike.
Jonté came onto the scene at approximately the same time as I first entered the fashion industry as a stylist and it's been amazing to see this talented young lady's designs evolve as she has grown as a designer over the past few years.
Every collection Jonté has released has shown her talent expanding in leaps and bounds and I can easily say that this is her most cohesive, wearable, yet show-stopping collection to date.
Sleek, silver and futuristic...

VIP Guests and Media were treated to bites and bubbles at Jonté's Design Studio - highlight of the menu would HAVE to be the Salted Caramel Vodka Cupcakes designed especially for the evening by Kingdom Cupcakes (you squeeze your little syringe of caramel infused vodka into your mini cupcake before eating!) - but honourable mentions also to the pork belly bites from Papa B's Tortas which honestly could've turned even the most devoted vegans.
But who am I kidding, it's not about the food, it's about the clothes - every magpie's dream (and by magpie I mean girl's who like shiny things!) - silver, sequins, embellishments and shimmering fabrics, definitely not for the wallflower, but easily paired back for day-to-day style as well as jaw-dropping evening looks.
It was also a novel change to be welcomed into Jonté's studio immediately post-show not only for more drinks and socialising but also to be able to shop the looks straight from the runway.
Not only were the garment racks were stocked with new season looks but the shoes and accessories featured in the show, by Rochessa & Jessica Bratich respectively, were available to purchase.
And as if that wasn't enough, limited edition prints by renowned fashion illustrator Michelle Pike (yes that is Jonté's Mum - fashion runs in their blood) were a hot ticket item amongst the crowd.
But if you missed out, all is not lost,
