Yesterday we gave you a taste of race day fashions for the Emirates Melbourne Cup 2012.
Today, we're all a little poorer, and many a little seedier, but that's not going to stop EatFashion from bringing you some more of the best [and worst] looks from the fun at Flemington.
Kate Waterhouse, one of the big names in Australian Fashion Journalism never fails to delight me.
I'm not going to lie... her embellished, lilac Gucci dress did make me actually drool a little. Her Nerida Winter headpiece could have been a little fencer-esque in it's length and symmetry - but it wasn't, because she is beyond gorgeous. And finished her look with some simple "oh-so-style-blogger" black strappy heels.
Delta Goodrem, Australia's Golden Girl and Swisse Ambassador (which should be apparent due to the complete lack of any posed photos, except for those taken in front of a giant, ugly vitamin poster), dropped by on her way to a fairy party... or so it would seem.
The Christian Dior Fall 2012 dress with watermelon tulle skirt and brocade bodice was just so wrong on her. The high-cut neckline paired with long, voluminous skirt was not a flattering choice for Delta and her nod to Lana Del Rey, with a floral Kerrie Stanley headband, was way more flower girl than fashions on the field.
She does, however have an excuse for those boring ballet class flats, a leg injury.
Maybe that can account for the bad taste too?
Aussie TV Star Jessica Mcnamee was cuter than any little Russian Doll I've ever seen! Baring her pins in my favourite Alice McCall minidress and strappy turquoise heels - such a babe. I also adore her take on races essential, the "fascinator", incorporating her own hair into a Lady Gaga inspired Bow-Tie Bun, finished with a cute little sheer, fuchsia bow at the front.
Delta - take notes!
the OC Babe
Donning Australian darling label Ellery yesterday, Mischa Barton graced Melbourne racegoers with her presence.
The wine coloured dress was paired with an intricate and sculptural headpiece by Phillip Treacy, Louis Vuitton bag and two-toned metallic pumps.
I'm just not sure, I love Mischa and I LOVE Ellery, but I don't particularly love this look - it's a head scratcher.
The stunning model wore a gorgeous nude and black Alex Perry number yesterday, offset with stunning blue drop-earrings. She seemed to be channeling a little bit of Ashley Madekwe with that headpiece too - hopefully Ash doesn't try to get any revenge for that [lol]
The Revenge actress turned up in a current season Camilla & Marc halter neck dress paired with gorgeous strappy tie-up sandals from TopShop. The look was pulled together with that golden Karine Sultan cuff and her cute sparkly hair brooch from designer Jennifer Behr.
One of my more recent style icons.
Sophie Monk - just, ugh!
Mary Vitinaros, model and all round babe.
The Design Award Winner wore creations by Craig Braybrook - an outfit only a model could pull off but any fashion lover would love.
I'm over horses now...
